enabled enterprises

Benefits of Vtesse optical services:

Reliability brings transactional integrity. Vtesse design, engineer and prove true route diversity and equipment redundancy enables 99.999% service level guarantees

Low latency reduces and can negate the effect of distance enabling IT equipment to be located where it best serves the business

Scalability gives organisational flexibility. Vtesse optical networks offer rapid scalability a wavelength at a time. Wavelengths range from 1Gbit /sec to 40Gbit/sec

Simplicity makes connectivity straightforward. Modern IT equipment uses a myriad of electrical interfaces. Vtesse maps each interface onto its own dedicated wavelength, removing complexities involved in protocol conversion and traffic shaping

The end result of this process, which will be openly discussed and iterative, will be a network and service design which will form the basis of our proposal to you. A design that you have specified. A design that you have approved.

Service Design and Delivery

Vtesse Networks specialises in removing the constraints that traditional telecoms services place on communications traffic between key sites. Whether the requirement is to interconnect buildings on a single campus or to interconnect data centres in different towns and cities, Vtesse Networks' goal is to make all sites appear to users, servers, storage, and applications as though they are in the same building.

Our approach is consultative rather than prescriptive. Our goal is to deliver an optical networking service that precisely and uniquely meets your service needs.

The Optical Networking Equipment we use utilises a technology called Wave Division Multiplexing. Through it we deliver a number of "wavelengths" - each wavelength is really a colour of light - and each "colour" or "lambda" will be tailored to carry a particular type of network traffic. Common types include Gigabit Ethernet, Fibre Channel, SDH, Escon and Ficon and the newly introduced standard for optical transport network services - OTN or G.709, but there are many more. Each has its own distance and bandwidth limitations and we will need to discuss how these attributes affect your equipment and services.

Our consultants will need to understand the physical locations of the premises that you need to interconnect. We will get a clear understanding of your expectations for service availability, and from the equipment you need to connect, we will deduce your needs for latency and jitter.

Armed with this knowledge we will discuss topologies for the network. Will a simple point-to-point service suffice? Or diverse parallel routes with separate equipment and power sources on each route? Or a ring topology? Or a mesh? Or a Star?

We will particulary consider options for network routes, as they are crucial in determining network reliability and service performance. You can see how we do that here.
