Vtesse in the Public Sector

These new services integrate seamlessly with our private optical network services and with those from other suppliers. They implement the same secure access and secured information principles, and, by virtue of using the very latest in copper access technologies and shared fibre routes, offer considerable scope for cost reduction and service improvement.

Our goal for each service is to give the same degree of flexibility to respond to change, opportunity and challenge that Private Optical Networks bring to the very largest customers.

Doing more, better, for less with Vtesse data centres

There is much current discussion on the number of data centres maintained by Government departments, agencies and authorities. There is one common conclusion. There are too many. With fewer data centres, resources might be better shared and costs lowered.

Agencies also have a duty to minimise their carbon footprints.

Vtesse Networks Hertfordshire Data Centres are our response to these principles. Vtesse data centre customers no longer have to worry about the high costs of data centre capital equipment, they no longer carry large amounts of depreciation on their books, they reduce internal OPEX costs, lower electricity costs, free important building space for disposal or other uses and they benefit from direct connectivity to Vtesse national fibre networks. Vtesse Networks - Services from Data Centre to Doorstep

Vtesse Networks managed services can provide an end to end infrastructure for delivery of your IT services. By co-locating your servers in a Vtesse data centre, which in turn is connected to Vtesse's National Fibre Network, offering Private Optical Network connectivity, ETHER/LIGHT Ethernet services and ETHER/IP VPN services, Vtesse provide a service delivery foundation from data centre to desktop. These are just some of the ways that Vtesse Networks can help you do more, better, for less.

Vtesse in the Public Sector

Doing more, better, for less.

There's no escaping the effects of the economic climate. Seemingly contradictorily, there is also real expectation that departments, agencies and authorities will be able, to quote SOCITM, "do more, better, with less."

Smart, shared services and infrastructure have been much written about. The Transformational Government report started the ball rolling at a national level describing implementation of the Public Sector Network (PSN) and more recently discussion in the Digital Britain report has set the tone for G-Cloud based shared services.

New Citizen and Business centric service delivery models challenge legacy departmental and discipline based models at a local level too. But here, the PSN and G-Cloud stops, leaving local agencies with the task of creatively seeking ways to consolidate and integrate the hundreds of discrete services, systems and networks that have evolved over long periods of time.

This is where Vtesse Networks excel. Private optical networks hosting consolidated services at local and regional level provide the fabric needed for shared service delivery, not only within traditional borders but between them too. They are the key to doing more, better, for less.

Vtesse Network's regional and national fibre infrastructure provides an opportunity for large-scale cost reduction, for sharing, for common access, for secured service delivery and for national service (G-Cloud) access.

Doing more, better, for less with Vtesse private fibre networks

Private optical networks - dedicated fibre infrastructure between premises, provide, without question, the highest possible levels of availability, flexibility, performance and security.

They provide a platform for multi-service consolidation within and between individual agencies and are used when the criticality or performance demands of the business systems they support justify the investment. Savings are realised as existing services are consolidated onto the new platform and the "more for less" metaphor applies as new services are added for minimal incremental network cost.

They are often used as the "core" of a shared services infrastructure, linking the most demanding sites and data centres. Vtesse Networks specialise in building these networks with our CESG CLAS consultant partners ensuring that appropriate security policies are implemented and maintained. Vtesse Networks ISO9001 accreditation and commitment to ISO27000 and 27011 accreditation provide further surety to Government customers.

Doing more, better, for less with Vtesse virtual private networks

Whilst private optical networks provide an ideal framework for core service "traffic", a lower cost infrastructure is needed for smaller sites and for citizen consumer access.

The guiding principles, for Vtesse Networks, remain the same. We must be able to offer our customers more, better, for less.

We have used our Optical Networking expertise to build new "layers" on our National Fibre Network. The first is an Ethernet service called "ETHER/LIGHT". The second is an IP VPN service we call "ETHER/IP". ETHER/LIGHT focuses on performance, simplicity and value for connecting IT resources in fixed locations. ETHER/IP provides a higher level of service, providing a platform for converged application delivery direct to end users, anywhere, anytime.
