Private Optical Networks

Benefits of Vtesse optical services:

Reliability brings transactional integrity. Vtesse design, engineer and prove true route diversity and equipment redundancy enables 99.999% service level guarantees

Low latency reduces and can negate the effect of distance enabling IT equipment to be located where it best serves the business

Scalability gives organisational flexibility. Vtesse optical networks offer rapid scalability a wavelength at a time. Wavelengths range from 1Gbit /sec to 40Gbit/sec

Simplicity makes connectivity straightforward. Modern IT equipment uses a myriad of electrical interfaces. Vtesse maps each interface onto its own dedicated wavelength, removing complexities involved in protocol conversion and traffic shaping

Fibre Rings and Meshes

Multiple point to point services, individually or diversely provisioned, provide support for all known network topologies.

Managed private wave division multiplexing services

Connectivity between customer sites is provided using customer selected combinations of Point to Point Dark Fibre, Diverse Point to Point Dark Fibre, Point to Point Virtual Dark Fibre or Diverse Virtual Dark Fibre.

On customer sites, customer agreed configurations of wave division multiplexing equipment are provided. End to end service is managed by Vtesse to customer agreed service levels. Vtesse offer Wave Division Multiplexing systems from all leading manufacturers.

Private WDM systems underpin the private optical networking service cores of many of our largest customers, linking data centres to data centres and regional administrative centres.

Private Optical Networks

Vtesse Private Optical Networking services have many applications, including, but not restricted to:

Business continuity, disaster recovery, enterprise core networks, mainframe channel extension, storage network extension, fibre to the curb, fibre to the premise, campus and business park infrastructure, carrier backhaul, carrier backbone, carrier access, LLU broadband service capture and aggregation, broadcast traffic aggregation and distribution and wireless backhaul.

Vtesse provide private optical networks with the following characteristics:

Point to Point Dark Fibre

Single fibre routes from customer premise to customer premise.

Routes may be provided using Vtesse owned dark fibre pairs from end to end, or may include fibre from 3rd parties in one or more segments of the route in order to manage cost. Vtesse assumes service accountability for all elements of the route.

Fibres are to a standard individually agreed with each customer and are tested before handover to demonstrate compliance.

Point to Point Diverse Dark Fibre

Two or more dark fibre point to point routes between customer premises. Demonstrable diversity between each route, with, where appropriate, customer specified minimum separation distances.

Service is normally delivered through diverse building entries at each customer site.

Point to Point Virtual Dark Fibre

A cost effective alternative for long distance service, providing functional equivalence of dark fibre on a national basis. Last mile connectivity to customer sites is delivered using Point to Point dark fibre service between customer premise and Vtesse Point of Presence.

Between Points of Presence, appropriate optical spectrum, passively provisioned, connects the two dark fibre services.

Optical spectrum can be provided for single or multiple 10, 40 and 100Gbit services, nationally.

Point to Point Diverse Virtual Dark Fibre

Two or more routes of Virtual Dark Fibre between customer premises.

Demonstrable diversity between each route, with, where appropriate, customer specified minimum separation distances. Service is normally delivered through diverse building entries. National routes, between PoPs, are provisioned on separate routes via separate PoPs.

Service is usually provisioned using diverse building entries and via four separate PoPs on the Vtesse network.

What our clients say...

“Vtesse met a very demanding delivery time and the service has been faultless ever since.”
