In this model, most appropriately applied when the integrator has multiple customers geographically distributed across the UK, each of whom are using telecoms services from other operators who might also be considered as competitors.

Vtesse effectively transform the integrator into a virtual asset owning national network operator by "splitting off" optical capacity on Vtesse's national network and overlaying it with private optical networking capacity at a scale and at a cost that makes sense for the number of customers to be transitioned across to the new service. The integrator builds their own MPLS/IP services layer by deploying their own equipment "on top of" that private capacity in as many Vtesse PoPs as makes sense at the time (The number changes with customer demand). Vtesse or the integrator or both can provide last mile connectivity.

The integrator benefits from a customer networking service under its own control rather than a potential competitor's and the customers benefit from the lower costs of bandwidth and the greater level of service platform functionality that the integrator can now provide.

Our bespoke approach to service design ensures that clients will always get the best possible network "fit". Our absolute focus on the "optical layer" gives our partners the confidence to propose services and value propositions at higher level network layers. This removes the conflict of interest often seen when integrators partner with traditional Telco's.

Outsourcing often involves focused projects to relocate data centre resources, consolidate server resources, extend LAN services, distribute storage services and provide real time replication of transactions for business continuity programmes. Engagement models

Whilst there are many potential ways for Vtesse to engage with integrator and outsourcer partners, the following two models have proven to work well. In each case, the partner is the primary point of end customer engagement. Vtesse engage with the end customer only as required and guided by the partner.

Build once, sell once.

This model has proven to be most suitable for the very largest customers and is typically taken as the second step in an outsourcing relationship at a time when it becomes appropriate to demonstrate step function improvements to the end customer in business process effectiveness as well as ongoing cost reduction.

Vtesse build a private optical network infrastructure for the integrator, designed to provide optical connectivity between the end customer's data centres and primary administrative centres. Vtesse "overlay" that fibre infrastructure with a pre-agreed layer of core functionality and manage it as a service to the integrator. The integrator overlays that with, usually an MPLS/IP layer and often an application services layer dedicated to that individual client's use. The integrator usually adds access network functionality to include smaller branch offices and operational locations. The end result for the client is a step function improvement in organisational flexibility, security, business performance and value.
